After conditioning, spray lightening spray thoroughly on towel-dried hair, then style as desired. For optimal lightening, use a flat iron or curling iron after blow-drying. Only use once between hair washings. Use only on clean, wet hair. Use no more than 10 times between colourings.

Can the Lightening Spray be used on all hair types?

The John Frieda Go Blonder Controlled Lightening Spray was developed for those with blonde hair from straight up to 3C-type hair textures.

How long should I wait between using the Spray and color-treating my hair afterward?

When used as directed and not used no more than 10 times on the same portion of hair, it is recommended to wait at least 2 weeks after the last use of Lightening Spray before color treatment. Always be sure to inform your stylist of prior usage so that they can properly manage the color treatment of your hair. Not doing so can result in unwanted/additional breakage.

Can I color-treat or highlight my hair after using the Go Blonder Spray?

Yes, consult with your stylist to ensure they are aware of the products and processes used. Time should be monitored so that hair doesn’t overprocess.

Will the Lightening Spray work if I don’t use it heat styling products?

This product was designed to be used with heat; therefore, you will not see the same degree of lightening effects if you simply apply it and let your hair air-dry. The more heat used, the more lightening achieved when using this product.

If I apply the Lightening Spray and then go out into the sun, will my hair get lighter?

It depends on how long you are out in the sun. Applying the Controlled Lightening Spray and going out into the sun may cause your hair to lighten, although the results will be much faster if you use it as recommended and with heat.

How is the Lightening Spray different from other hair lightening products?

The Go Blonder Lightening Spray contains patent-pending technology to help improve the retention of hydrogen peroxide on the hair and aid with styling. It was specifically designed to be used with heat appliances as part of a normal styling routine. It is also tinted purple/violet to help maintain true-to-tone blonde results.

Does the Lightening Spray cover grey hair?

This product was not designed to cover grey hair. Grey hair does not contain any color pigments, and since this product removes color pigments to lighten the hair, the technology would not be effective at covering grey. However, if you are not completely grey, it is possible that your grey hairs may appear less noticeable as your surrounding blonde hair gets lighter from using the product.
