IN CASE YOU WERE WONDERING...

Will this stain my hair blue?

With repeated use, extended leave-on times, or damaged, porous hair, ashy or blue tones may temporarily be visible after use. To remove them, simply wash your hair with a clarifying shampoo. If necessary, repeat until any unwanted color is removed from the hair.

Will my hair go back to its original color if I discontinue use of the Blue Crush line?

Yes, discontinuing use and returning to a normal daily shampoo and conditioner will ultimately fade away the effects of the blue shampoo.

Why does brunette hair develop warm orange tones?

Hair contains natural pigments called melanin. Some are darker/cooler, and some are warmer/lighter. The unique blend of these pigments gives us our unique hair color. When brunette hair is bleached or lifted, it is primarily the darker pigments that are removed. The lighter/warmer pigments mostly remain in the hair. These are yellow/orange/red in color. When stylists highlight or lighten hair, they typically use a product containing toning pigments. These toning pigments counteract brassiness, making hair look fresh and bright. Over time and with continued washing, these toning pigments wash out of the hair, leaving it looking brassy. Using a blue shampoo will deposit cool tones back in the hair, counteracting the warm, brassy tones and leaving hair looking cooler and brighter.

Will the Blue Crush product line stain my hands blue? What about my shower?

John Frieda Blue Crush is specially designed to provide even toning to the hair while minimizing the staining typically associated with blue shampoos. However, Blue Crush Shampoo is color depositing and could stain skin, fabrics, or household surfaces if the product is in contact with for longer than normal application time to the hair. As soon as the product is applied to the hair, wash the hands and fingers with soap and water to ensure no residual product is left.

Is John Frieda Blue Crush Blue Conditioner nourishing?

Yes! Blue Crush is designed to hydrate - replenishing moisture to your hair and restoring suppleness.
